Streamripper

Streamripper is a record streaming mp3 to the user hard disc. Streamripper 1.64 beta 2 is the latest version of streamripper which can also records from external metadata. Streamripper does not send artist and title information through metadata by some means. It can record streams that have no artist or title information.The –E option provided along with this stream ripper helps to get information about artist and title.

The users can no longer search for this information as it can be got easily with -E option. The helper application along with –E option provide the details of the artist and tile. The downside of streamripper is memory usage. It uses 25MB of users RAM which is still too much for an mp3 recorder. This will affect the system performance. Moreover the user cannot record other audio types using stream ripper.
